China is poised to become the second-largest net natural gas importer as soon as next year, behind only OECD Europe, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA). Chinese gas supply in coming years will be influenced by new deliveries from Russia following agreements signed last year by Moscow and Beijing, as well as increased LNG import capacity and potential development of domestic unconventional gas resources.
