Trial oil extraction from the Azar oilfield has been carried out successfully, project operator announced Sunday. Keivan Yarahmadi said that Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) has extracted oil from the well No.6 of Azar field for the first time. Azar's oil reserve is estimated at 2.5 billion barrels. It is shared by Iran and Iraq, and is part of Anaran Block in Ilam Province.
