Uzbekistan Resets Record for Daily Electricity Consumption

Uzbekistan renewed the record for daily electricity consumption in June. Its Ministry of Energy says this happened due to abnormal heat.
The volume of electricity consumed in Uzbekistan amounted to 231.7 million kWh on June 13, which hit 202 million kWh on the same day a year ago.
The volume increase rate was 14.7%, AKIpress reported.
Electricity consumption until 11 a.m. on June 14 was 1,600 MW (15.4%) higher compared to the same date in 2022. This indicates that daily electricity consumption reached 238-239 million kWh, exceeding last year's figure by 30 million kWh or 14.8%.
The Ministry of Energy expects consumption to continue to grow.
Tashkent consumes the most.
For example, if residents of the capital used 15.5 million kWh of electricity on June 13, 2021, then the figure for 2022 was 17.08 million kWh, and it is already 26.4 million kWh this year.
