Tehran Drought Worst in 50 Years

Precipitation in Tehran Province has plummeted by a massive 97% since Sept. 23 (beginning of the current water year), which is unprecedented in the last 50 years, deputy for water and hydropower affairs at Tehran Regional Water Company said.
“Ground and surface water resources are in critical conditions and the drought in the region is unparalleled over the last half a century,” ISNA also quoted Mohammad Shahriari as saying.
