Electricity projects were launched in North Khorasan Province on Tuesday. The projects include construction of 60 km of electricity distribution network, installation of 99 substations, as well as repair and maintenance of 50 km of distribution network and 10 substations, managing director of North Khorasan Electricity Distribution Company said.
“Installation of 41,000 LED street lights to improve the quality of urban street lighting is among the projects,” IRNA quoted Alireza Sabouri as saying.
Located on northeast of Iran, North Khorasan has a population of 863,000 people 44% of whom live in rural areas.
North Khorasan Electricity Distribution Company has 353,698 subscribers, of which 84% are households and the rest are industry, agriculture, services and other sectors. The entire population in the province (urban and rural) is connected to the electricity network.
Also on Tuesday electricity projects were launched in five provinces including Mazandaran, Golestan, Gilan, Semnan and Khorasan Razavi.
The projects cost $14 million and include expansion of rural and urban power grids, improve road lighting, burnish consumption management and reduce electricity loss.
