Installed capacity of West Regional Electricity Company (WREC), which supplies to Ilam, Kermanshah and Kordestan provinces, will rise by 25% by next March, managing director of the company said.
“Daily power output, mainly from thermal power plants and combined heat and power (CHP) stations, which now is 3,500 megawatt is expected to reach 4,355 MW by the end of current fiscal,” IRNA quoted Ali Asadi as saying.
Power projects worth $32 million are being undertaken in the region that will boost supply to industrial units like Kermanshah Petrochemical Plant, Hounan Yatay ceramic company as well as East Asia United Ferroalloy Factory, which is being developed in Eslamabad-e-Gharb County in Kermanshah Province, Asadi noted.
