4 Awards for Iran at South Korea Expo

Four Iranians won awards at the 5th International Invention Fair, which was a part of the 2019 Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology (BIXPO 2019), held in Gwangju, South Korea, November 6-8.
The four were among winners selected from among 160 participants from 51 countries, IRNA reported.
High school student Dorsa Monavari, 17, from Alborz Province, received gold for making a refrigerator that is able to list the food inside it, including their production and expiration date and weight.
It sends a warning signal when the foods’ expiry date is near. The smart fridge can also display a list of a user’s favorite food on a monitor based on routine choices in a week.
Reza Ghavamipour, from Rasht Islamic Azad University Incubator Center, got a gold medal for energy transition and digital transformation.
He won the award for designing a solar fuel system of an unmanned aerial vehicle.
Abdollah Saeidi-Asl, an engineer at the National Iranian Drilling Company, won a gold medal for his project “removal of mechanical couplings and replacement of hydraulic couplings in submarines up to a depth of 100 meters”.
He had won gold at the event last year for his plan “quality upgrade of wind turbines”.
Young inventor Mohammad Kiani, from Khuzestan Province, also received gold and a bronze medal for his inventions.
Last year, in addition to Saeidi-Asl, two more Iranians snatched two gold and two silver medals.
Abolfazl Vahedi, a faculty member, and Arash Taheri, holder of a master’s degree,   both from the Iran University of Science and Technology won four medals for their innovations.
