a French investment group visited Shahid Rajaee Port near Bandar Abbas in southern Iran on Monday in order to explore investment possibilities in Iran's largest container port.
the investment group, which is experienced in making investment in West Africa and India, visited the area around the port talking with officials.
“The French delegation also visited supporting buildings, both major container terminals, the general cargo terminal and the main export warehouses”,said Mohammad Ali Asl Saeedi Pour, deputy of port and maritime affairs of Hormozgan province, IRNA reported.
The visit was organized by local officials in collaboration with Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran. The French delegation also met with executive directors of Shahid Rajaee port and received an update on the investment potentials of the region.
The visiting delegation is also scheduled to visit Qeshm Free Trade Zone, Chahbahar Free Trade Zone and Imam Khomeini port, Saeedpour added.
Shahid Rajaee lies on the north shores of the Strait of Hormuz, about nine nautical miles (14.5 km) west-southwest of the provincial capital city of Bandar Abbas. Around one hundred million tons of goods pass through Shahid Rajaee annually.
