A local stationery store based in the central city of Isfahan has forayed into e-commerce with its own online platform for selling goods and delivering them to the customer's door.

The e-store dubbed "Tahrir20" offers customers varied stationery items, as well as low-cost office and kindergarten supplies.

Tahrir means inscription in Persian and 20 is the highest mark in Iran’s educational system.

Available through tahrir20.com, the startup opened in December 2017. It used to work offline but decided to expand business and serve consumers nationwide.

Items on the website are considered economical compared to other stores, with items ranging from the minimum of 7,000 rial (16 cents) to a maximum of 380,000 rials ($9) including pens, highlighters, stickers, erasers, cut paper, pencil cases, notebooks, markers, gouache and wax oil crayon.

Operating from Isfahan, they deliver items free of charge for the city's residents and mail products for the rest of the country.

Businesses all over the country are embracing the digital age and understanding the preference of consumers toward shopping online.

Over 3,500 knowledge-based firms and several thousand startups are operating in Iran, with the majority of them offering online services. The revenue of these companies during the last fiscal which ended in March surpassed 600 trillion rials ($14.2 billion), an impressive 50% year-on-year spike.
