Startup Offers Pet Products Online in Tehran

An innovative startup dubbed "Petia" allows pet owners to check the products of pet stores nearby and order commodities online.

The startup has launched a location-based app which allows pet stores to display their products and their prices on the app.

Pet owners can browse through a variety of animal supplies and pet accessories and place an order online. The selected commodities are delivered to the customer's door.

Petia also has the option of suggesting pet shops that contain all the items on the customer's shopping list.

Knowledge-based firm Faradade Rayaneh Corporation developed the software in May 2017. It was launched with the objective of supporting animal shelters and part of its income is dedicated to shelters.

Animal shelters in Iran have drawn support from the public in recent years. They offer a variety of services including rescue missions and operations to spay or neuter animals to control their population.

Research shows living with pets provides certain health benefits. Pets help lower blood pressure, lessen anxiety and boost immunity.

The app is available for Android and iOS. It can be downloaded for free from Apple's App Store and has received a 4.5 star rating out of five from iOS users.

The Android app is available on local app market Café Bazaar. It has been downloaded over 500 times and has received a 3.2-star (out of five) ranking from users. Moreover, the app is available for download on Google Play.
