Nokia is back from the dead with its Nokia 8 model which hopes to take on Samsung and Apple.
The company has already released mid-range phones designed by the company, but the new Nokia 8 is the first flagship since the brand’s relaunch, according to Tech Radar.
Nokia 8 should be in the global market in September.
Nokia announced an official price of $700 for the 8 model, meaning it is in the same price range of a new iPhone7 and Galaxy S8.
The 8 features screen size of 5.3 inches and has a QHD resolution which equals 554 pixels-per-inch.
Design-wise Nokia 8 comes with a slim metal shell that is 7.9mm at its thickest point and goes down to under 5mm at the edges.
It has a full-metal unibody and looks premium and has metal edges that make it look sleek overall.
According to local technology website Zoomit.ir in June, HMD, which is a Nokia affiliate, was said to be looking to re-enter the brand back in Iran.
The report did not state if the company will have a local distributor or will enter the market directly.
However, calls by this paper to the firm were unanswered on whether they intend to restart operations.
