Peeyade (meaning pedestrian in Persian), a local discovery app, has released an updated version for Android iOS users and now Windows. The application introduces Persian-language readers to cultural and recreational activities in Tehran as well as events happening across the capital, a press release from the startup announced. Listings of cafes, theaters and cinemas as well as art, cultural and architecture events are included in the locally developed app. Content is submitted by Tehran residents and added by the app developers. The application lists three major sections: Peeyade Ro (Sidewalk), Events and Locations. The first section gives information about Tehran and announces city tours and “walking tours” of the city. The application faces competition from similar local apps like iBartar and Fidilio, in addition to English-language applications and websites like FourSquare and TripAdvisor.
