Local App Store Reports Growth

WEB: 90% of Café Bazaar’s Android Apps Developed in Iran  Café Bazaar, Iran’s largest local Android market released its annual statistics indicating significant growth in the number of locally produced applications.As per the data, during the last fiscal year (ended March 20), 10,451 developer teams sold their applications through the local Android app store, local technology website ICTNA reported. Further, 90% of the apps offered on Café Bazaar were crafted by local developers.Although the number of locally produced apps has grown in recent years, foreign-developed apps are still more popular with Iranians, the Telegram Messenger being one vivid example.Data also showed that the app store sold 12 million applications during the one-year period, indicating a 5% share of the total online purchases made by Iranians.During the same period, 1.4 billion applications were downloaded or updated using Bazaar.
