ICT Ministry Denies Blocking Instagram Live

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has denied it has blocked the live streaming function part of Instagram called Instalive following reports on social media suggesting that the service has been blocked. The ministry’s public relations chief, Mohammad Reza Farnaghi, said none of the authorities in charge of filtering websites and online services had issued any order about the service, local technology website Zoomit.ir reported. Farnaghi said that any problem with the service is “due to Instagram servers” and has nothing to do with Iranian operators or the government. However, users in other countries have not reported any problem using the service. Financial Tribune tested the service and it was working properly at the time this report went to print.
