An Iranian advertising company, Novin Marketing has begun selling advertisement for Iranian companies via Google’s AdSense software, according to claims by the enterprise. US sanctions bar American corporate entities from entering the Iranian economy or partnering with local businesses, therefore Novin Marketing had to forge a deal with a Thai company, Ario Marketing, operating as a proxy between the Iranian firm and Google, a local technology website, zoomit.ir reported. On its website, Novin Marketing claims to be a “premier Google partner” while this is legally impossible due to the sanctions. Being the most visited site globally, ads on Google can enable Iranian businesses to reach out to a wider range of consumers. Located in Tehran, Novin Marketing started work in 2006 offering online advertisement services to Canadian firms. A year later the company launched its domestic services. According to the website, it has worked with Lufthansa, Toshiba, the local Internet service provider, Mobin Net, automaker MVM and Saman Insurance Company.
