Production of video games in Iran is on the rise, growing 35% in the past 11 months, chief executive officer of Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation said Monday.
“The operations of 2000 local game developers from 100 companies are of course good for this industry in Iran,” chief executive officer of Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation Hassan Karimi Ghoddousi told IRNA.
He made the comments in the run-up to the first Tehran Game Convention, which will be held from April 29-30 under the auspices of the Iran Computer and Video Games Foundation.
“The aim of Tehran Game Convention is to create a bridge between the major players of the industry in Iran and the Middle East and the international game community, promote the developers’ knowledge, share experience and expand business,” the project manager of Tehran Game Convention Mehrdad Ashtiani added.
“Introducing investment opportunities, paving the way for presentation of Iranian products in the international market and making connections between game developers are among the positive points of the event,” he added.
The computer gaming event hopes to attract 2,000 participants for deal-making and networking.
Among other things, the event will offer the opportunity to international companies to make deals in the Iranian and larger Middle East and North Africa markets. Game Connection Europe & America will help stage the event.
