Iran and Armenia discussed scientific cooperation and joint nanotechnology research. Kazem Sajjadi, Iran’s ambassador to the neighboring country, and Saeed Sarkar of the Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council met with Armenia’s Minister of Transport, Communications and IT Vahan Martirosyan on Wednesday to discuss broadening nanotechnology research, Mehr News Agency reported. “Serious cooperation can be established between Iran and Armenia in the realm of nanotechnology,” Sarkar said after outlining the accomplishments of Iran in the field. As part of the discussions among the three officials, projects such as a potential “engineering city” to be built on the Iran-Armenia border were discussed. However, no further details were given on the project. Martirosyan invited Iranian officials to host an expo of Iranian science and technology achievements in the Armenian capital, but no date was given for this event either.
