Iran, Vietnam Sign Telecoms Agreement

Telecommunications Company of Iranian and the Vietnamese delegation present at Iran Telecom Innovations Exhibition have agreed to collaborate to provide FTTH services in Iran earlier this week. Fiber to the home (FTTH) is the delivery of communications signal over optical fiber from the operator’s switching equipment all the way to a home or business, thereby replacing the existing copper infrastructure such as telephone wires and coaxial cable. The service will significantly affect the quality of services and operators would be able to provide more reliable services, Mehr News Agency reported. A joint committee will be created to prepare the required legal and financial ground for the project. According to TCI officials, the services will first focus on academic centers and then be expanded to businesses and households.
