Iran's Eminent Ranking in 4 Tech Fields

Iran has obtained good positions in the global ranking for four high-tech fields, the caretaker of Islamic World Science Citation Database (ISC) said on July 2.
"Iran officially ranks third in the world in terms of the number of articles on chemical engineering," Mohammad Javad Dehqani added, stressing that the sources for determining Iran’s scientific status are based on Scopus and ISI data.
Based on ISI data, the number of registered documents and papers in 2015 hit 34,000, while the figure was 31,000 in 2014, ISNA reported.
Dehqani also said Iranian scientific research grew by 8% in 2015, adding that the country ranks third in terms of producing scientific documents and research papers.
The official noted that Iran is preceded by Russia with 12.5% growth and Australia with 8.7% growth in this regard.
Dehqani further said Iran is placed seventh in nanotechnology, 13th in stem cells and 14th in nuclear physics, according to the statistics.
