With the approach of the Iranian New Year (starting March 20), many families will be traveling by car across the country.
And one of the most common question during the vacation is: Where do I fill up the tank?
Now, a locally developed and updated application will help users locate the closest gas station in their vicinity.
The app named "Pomp-e-Benzin Yaab"—meaning gas-station finder in Persian—lists all fuel stations across Iran, Carnet reports.
The new application locates and guides you to the nearest gas station, no matter where you are in the Islamic Republic.
All you need to do is to turn on the GPS setting on your smartphone or tablet, and set the radius for which you would like to see the search results.
The app is only currently available in Persian and for devices running on Android. Although, the app was developed over a year ago, downloads peak around the Iranian New Year when people are in unfamiliar cities.
The app, produced in association with the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, can be downloaded for free on the Iranian application store for Android: Cafe Bazaar.
As of March 14, 2016, the application had been downloaded over 20,000 times and received a rating of one out of five stars for its ease of use.
