The First Festival of Innovative Businesses will be held in Lorestan Province in western Iran, said the head of Lorestan's Science and Technology Park this week.
The park is cooperating with the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade as well as the city's Administration of Cooperatives and Social Welfare and an engineering company that have come together to help make the event happen, Mehr News Agency quoted Majid Yar-Ahmadi as saying.
"The main goal of the event is to identify modern and innovative ideas in the realm of entrepreneurship with the ultimate aim of developing knowledge-based firms," he said.
"We wish the event will help discover noble talents in the region."
Yar-Ahmadi noted that the festival has been organized in three tiers, the first is scheduled for January 21-22 during the course of which the ideas and plans of those taking part will be assessed.
Next, businesses that meet the standards will find their way to the next level scheduled for January 28-29. The selected ideas will undergo a training course and attend educational workshops focused on commercializing business ideas, business management and patents.
In the final stage, on February 4-5, investors and industrialists will meet with owners of the ideas so that the businesses may attract the needed funding.
