Irancell unveiled its latest machine-to-machine services for commercial use last week.
According to a company press release, the new service has been launched to digitize services in the fields of industries and organizations, apart from boosting social welfare.
M2M refers to technologies that allow both wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices of the same type. Machine-to-machine connections may use various wireless or wired networking, information and communications technology.
Riding on Irancell's infrastructures, secure connections can be established and the systems and machines can be remotely controlled.
One potential client is the government that can use M2M for electronic services and digitized industries. It can also be used for remote monitoring, calculations and driverless vehicles, in addition to smart homes and cities.
M2M services also come in handy in cases of energy management and security cameras, as well as services such as digitized alarms that go off in case of fires, burglary or water leaks.
Irancell has invested 1 trillion rials ($29.5 million at market exchange rate) in preparing the M2M infrastructures that can lead to the development of the Internet of Things.
IoT is the network of physical objects or things embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data.
