A new technology event called Tosan Innovation Challenge has been announced on local technology websites. The event is hosted by Tosan Boom, in association with local banking group Tosan Negin Software Development Company. The first marathon hackathon, set up for teenagers and young people looking to crack banking operations, will be held on Nov. 4-6 at Tehran’s Amirkabir University of Technology, according to Webna. Individuals and teams interested in participating in the event are expected to know computer programming and API, or application program interface, which is a set of routines, protocols and tools for building software applications. There are four cash prizes for best hackers ranging from 50 million to 200 million rials. Hackathons aim to crack a company’s data security and gain unauthorized access to its system or computer in a specific period of time.
