Iranian researchers at Ramin Power Plant in Ahvaz city in southwestern Khuzestan Province have developed convertors for use in oil, gas, petrochemical and other industries. “The convertors can be used in oil, gas, petrochemical and other industries,” said Alireza Mousavi, the managing director of the power plant, ISNA reported. He added that the power plant's experts have managed to produce 50,000 parts and equipment over the past four years. Gholamreza Charkhabzadeh, the deputy head of the power plant's Maintenance Department, said the researchers have conducted technical research and calculations, and built thermal convertors of different models. The convertors cost considerably less compared to their foreign counterparts and comply with international standards. The export potential of this new technology is unknown but, if produced in a cost-effective manner, Iran could become a net exporter of the gas-to-liquid converters.
