Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi met with Armenia’s Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tumanyan in Tehran on Sunday. Vaezi highlighted the importance of developing relations with neighboring countries, including Armenia, according to the ministry's website. President Hassan Rouhani is a proponent of expanding technological cooperation and that is a priority in the government's foreign policy. Ambassador Tumanyan noted that Armenia stands ready to actively collaborate with Iran in information technology and engineering, and expects support from relevant Iranian authorities. Vaezi expressed his full support for the Armenian ambassador's proposal. He added that Iran has a considerable track record in implementing telecommunications, satellite and infrastructure projects and is ready to cooperate in these fields.
