A robotic festival for children and young adults concluded on Saturday in Khoy, West Azarbaijan Province.

"During the event, students set out to design and build robots in the northwestern province," said Fatemeh Anbari Moqaddam, the head of the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults in Khoy.

Three teams, each of which comprised three members, made it to the national robotics competitions for children and young adults, IRNA reported.

"The center—better known as Kanoon—had organized a 45-day course before the festival started in which children and young adults were taught the basics of robot designing and building.

Over 1,400 children and young adults are members of Kanoon in Khoy. The Iranian institution organizes a wide range of cultural and artistic activities related to the mental and cultural development of children and young adults.

Since it was founded in 1961, through production of artistic works and organizing festivals, discussion panels, competitions and conferences, as well as offering consultation services, Kanoon has addressed an extensive part of the cultural and developmental needs of the children and young adults of Iran.
