No permit has been issued for importing fruit, specifically citrus fruit, via the borders, minister of Agricultural Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati wrote in a letter to governors of border regions, as IRNA reported on Tuesday. The minister underlined that domestically produced fruit can meet demand and there is no need for import of more fruit. Illegal imports may cause disease outbreak in domestic orchards, he warned.
