Unemployment among women is twice the rate for men, Abol-Hassan Firoozababdi, the deputy minister of labor and social affairs said yesterday, Mehr news agency reported. The official underlined that women’s participation has to increase specifically in the field of telecommunication technology. Women’s participation is currently higher in industrial, agricultural, and service sectors, as compared to other areas, Firoozababdi had previously said. Women’s participation has a direct relation with the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Mohammad-Reza Sepehri, the head of labor and social security said, ISNA reported on Tuesday.
