An Iranian maritime official said the country has gained self-sufficiency in designing and manufacturing various types of vessels, particularly passenger ships, reported FNA. Abdolkarim Razazan said the country has stepped up building passenger ships over the past years, and it no longer needs to import vessels from countries such as the UAE and China. He stressed that localized travel vessels can compete with foreign models and have passed all international standards. Passenger ships mainly travel in the country’s southern waters.
