Iran will launch an exclusive trade and industrial fair on February 25-26 in Turkmenistan, Hassan Mortaja, the exhibition organizer told IRNA yesterday. Turkmenistan is the only country that has swap transactions with Iran and the exhibition will help both countries’ traders to explore avenues for increasing bilateral transactions. Mortaja added that the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) is making every effort to pave the ground for Iranian firms to enter and stay active in the Turkmen market. The value of trade between Iran and Turkmenistan is estimated to be around $5 billion a year, and the Iranian and Turkmen officials have expressed hope that the figure could reach $10 billion in the coming years.
