Iran’s ministry of industry, mine and trade will be hosting the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, also known as Developing-8 or D-8, due to be held in the capital city of Tehran on 26-28 January 2015. The 3-day event will be attended by ministers and top officials from the D-8 member states, as well as by representatives from private sector and local/international organizations. The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, also known as Developing-8 or D-8, is an organization for development cooperation among Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey. The objectives of the organization are to improve member states’ position in the global economy, diversify and create new opportunities in trade relations, enhance participation in decision-making at international level, and improve standards of living.
