In his meeting with governor of South Khorasan Vajhollah Khedmatgozar, Swiss Ambassador to Iran Julio Haus, voiced his country’s willingness to establish favorable relations with Iran, the governorate website reported on Wednesday. Regarding the economic potential of South Khorasan, the two officials vowed to do their best to expanding mutual ties. According to Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), economic relations between Switzerland and Iran have traditionally been good, and up until 2008, the volume of trade was on a continual increase. Since then, the international sanctions against Iran have been complicating economic relations and the volume of trade has been on decline. Once the sanctions are lifted, a trade boom is expected between Iran and the European countries including Switzerland.
