First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri inaugurated the Ayatollah Behjat Foomani Dam in the northern province of Gilan on Tuesday, Mehr news agency reported. About 2 trillion rials has been spent on the construction of the dam over the past ten years, Mohammad Ali Najajfi, the governor of Gilan said. The dam has a reservoir capacity of 165m3 and will supply water to 2 million people in Gilan as well as to 150 hectares of farming land nearby, he said. The vice president is in Gilan to open several capital projects in the province.
