Afghanistan Customs Department has agreed to lift the ban on imports of oil products, cement, steel products, tiles and ceramics from Iran through the Farah Border Checkpoint, known as Mahiroud on the Iranian side of the border.
The neighboring country had banned imports of these products from Iran via Farah terminal in South Khorasan Province on Sept. 16, Mehr News Agency reported.
Secretary-General of Iran-Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce Mozaffar Alikhani had said at the time that the restrictions have been enforced to prevent violations of customs regulations in the absence of an online monitoring system between the two neighboring countries at the border checkpoint.
