Around 70.77 million tons of commodities were handled in Iran’s 17 major ports during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22), registering a 7.3% decline compared with the similar period of last year.
According to figures released by the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran on its website, loading and unloading of oil goods accounted for more than 23.19 million tons of the total sum, showing a 7.2% fall year-on-year.
Container loading and unloading declined by 23% compared with the corresponding period of last year to stand at 1.25 million TEUs.
