Iran Capex Disbursements Increase by 450%

The Iranian government has spent 255 trillion rials ($1.73 billion) in capital expenditure during the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), which is 450% more compared with the same period of last year, Iran's Plan and Budget Organization said.

The allocated Capex budget constitutes more than 41% of this year’s budget i.e. 620 trillion rials ($4.21 billion), IRNA reported.

Ever since 2001, the first year of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Third Five-Year Development Plan, the government’s operating budget has always overtaken that of capital expenditure.
