Iran traded 1.02 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $497.85 million with Thailand during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22). This indicates a 7.99% and 20.09% growth in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show. Iran’s exports to Thailand stood at 881,455 tons worth $412.59 million, up 28.24% and 64.41% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. Thailand was Iran’s ninth major export destination during the period. Iran mainly exported steel and liquefied propane to Thailand during the five-month period. Thailand exported 148,522 tons of goods worth $85.26 million to Iran, down 44.24% and 47.89% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. It was the 25th exporter of goods to Iran over the five months. The imports mainly included medium-density fiberboard, electrical equipment and split-system air conditioners.
