Cabinet Gives Nod to Import of Medical Equipment

The Iranian Cabinet permitted, in its Sept. 5 session, the import of medical equipment that have locally-manufactured counterparts due to the special condition of the country. Such imports must first secure the approval of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade, Mehr News Agency reported on Sunday. Late June, the government had banned the imports of more than 1,300 commodities categorized as “non-essential goods with domestic counterparts”.
