Close to 999,000 tons of soybeans worth more than $492 million were imported into Iran during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22).
This registers a 41.78% and 45.79% increase in terms of weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year, figures released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.
This amount of soybean purchases accounted for 8.65% and 3.24% of Iran’s total imports over the period under review, Mehr News Agency reported.
