Free zones should turn into the country’s export and production hubs, Presidential Advisor and Secretary of the High Council of Free Zones Akbar Torkan said in New Delhi on Saturday. He expressed regret that currently free zones are used mainly for import purposes. Iran will provide facilities to foreign investors, especially Indians, to make investments in Chabahar port city in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, IRNA quoted him as saying. He added that Iran and India can expand their cooperation in petrochemical industry and producing fertilizers. During his stay in India, Torkan held talks with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industries Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Wednesday and left New Delhi for Tehran on Friday.
