The construction of the 75-kilometer Hamedan-Malayer Railroad in northwestern Iran was launched on Thursday in a ceremony attended by Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi.
“Hamedan-Malayer Railroad will be built in two sections. The first is 41.5 kilometers long and will cost about 689 billion rials (more than $15 million) and the second section is 33.5 kilometers long,” Kheirollah Khademi, deputy minister and chief executive of Iran’s Transportation Infrastructure Construction and Development Company, affiliated to the Roads Ministry, said on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony.
