Iran traded 1.58 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $791.4 million with Afghanistan during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), registering a 5.13% and 21.59% growth in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period.
This was announced in the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration’s latest report.
Iran’s exports to Afghanistan stood at 1.58 million tons worth $788.43 million, up 5.36% and 21.95% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year.
The neighboring country was Iran’s fourth biggest export destination during the period. Iran mainly exported light oil, hydrocarbides and floorings to Afghanistan during the three-month period.
Afghanistan exported 2,638 tons of goods worth $2.96 million to Iran, down 54.58% and 32.50% in tonnage and value respectively YOY.
Iraq was the 69th major exporter of goods to Iran in the three months. Imports mainly included plants, sesame seeds and caraway seeds.
