Changes in Staple Food Production Over a Decade

Milk, chicken and egg production registered a growth of 25%, 52% and 39% from the fiscal 2006-7 to 2016-17, while red meat output marked a nearly 1% decrease during the 10-year period, according to a recent report released by the Statistical Center of Iran. Per capita milk, chicken and egg production increased from 110 kg, 19 kg and 10 kg respectively to 121 kg, 26 kg and 12 kg while per capita red meat production declined from 12 kg to 10 kg during the period under review, ILNA reported.
