Around 6.7 million passengers were transported by urban and suburban railroads during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), registering a 15% increase compared with the similar period of last year, the deputy head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways for passenger affairs said.
“Around 5 million passengers out of the total figure were transported by urban railroads and the remaining 1.7 million by suburban railroads, indicating a 15% and 12% rise respectively year-on-year,” Mir Hassan Mousavi was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
