Foreign Investment in Tehran Province Expected to Double

Foreign investment in Tehran Province is set to double in the current fiscal year (March 2018-19) compared with last year’s $1 billion, the head of Tehran Province Management and Planning Organization said. “Last year’s foreign investment was focused on solar energy, agriculture, industries, mining, trade and technology, while investments in information technology will be encouraged this year,” IRNA also quoted Nematollah Torki as saying. Torki noted that the Third Exhibition of Iran’s Export Capabilities, also known as “Iran Expo 2018”, will play a great role in attracting foreign investment. “The event has been scheduled to be held in Tehran from October 20 to 23, hosting 160 European, Asian, African and American companies in a wide range of sectors, including food industry, agriculture, automotive, household appliances, handicrafts, medical equipment, construction, mining and petrochemicals,” he said.
