About 490,000 tons of goods valued at $294 million were exported from Kurdestan Province’s customs terminals during the first quarter of the current Iranian year (March-June) to register a 68% increase in tonnage and a 36% increase in value year-on-year, IRNA quoted Director General of Kurdestan Province’s Customs Administration Bakhtiyar Rahmanipour as saying.
Agricultural crops, with 213,000 tons worth $83 million, accounted for the biggest portion of exports. Other commodities exported from Kurdestan during the period included mineral and plastic products.
