Currently, 19,000 industrial units are being constructed in industrial parks across Iran, the work on 8,000 of which has progressed by more than 60%, the head of Iran’s Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization said.
“We expect 1,700 new production units to become operational in industrial parks this year (March 2018-19),” Sadeq Najafi was also quoted as saying by IRNA. According to Najafi, there are 84,000 licensed production units in Iranian industrial parks, 70% of which are active.
Secretary of the Supreme Council of Urban Development and Architecture Mohammad Saeed Izadi recently voiced objection over the development of non-governmental industrial towns in the counties of Tehran Province, namely Robat Karim, Shahr-e Qods, Safadasht, Golestan and Nassirshahr in a letter to Tehran Governor General Mohammad Hossein Moqimi.
