The average goods and services Consumer Price Index in the 12-month period ending June 21, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Khordad (May 22-June 21), increased by 8.2% compared with last year’s corresponding period, the Statistical Center of Iran reported. SCI had put the inflation rate for the preceding month of Ordibehesht, which ended on May 21, at 8%. The overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 116.2 in Khordad, indicating a 1.9% rise compared with the previous month. The index registered a year-on-year increase of 10.2% compared with the similar month of last year. SCI put Khordad’s inflation for urban and rural areas at 8.2% and 7.9% respectively.
