A national diesel engine production line with 1,300 horsepower was inaugurated on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Sixth International Exhibition of Rail Transportation and Related Industries and Equipment, in the presence of Roads Minister Abbas Akhoundi and Industries Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari, among other officials. The engine has a range of application in the fields of rail, road and sea transportation, oil industry, energy and defense, the news service of the of Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported. The exhibition, also known as “RailExpo 2018” opened at Tehran International Fairground on Tuesday with the participation of 90 foreign companies from Germany, China, Russia, Latvia, Spain, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Austria, IRNA reported. Some 200 domestic companies are taking part in the event to showcase their latest products and services in the fields of locomotive and passenger railroad cars. RailExpo 2018 will run for four days and conclude on June 22.
