Tehran ranked 94th in the Global Cities Index from among the list of 135 metropolitan cities under study in the A.T. Kearney 2018 Global Cities report, which shows an improvement of 4 notches compared to the Iranian capital city’s 2017 standing.
The first five cities in this year’s rankings were New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
The analysis was carried out based on facts and publicly available data on the five dimensions of business activity, human capital, information exchange, cultural experience and political engagement.
Iran’s ranking in Global Cities Outlook stood at 123—a five-notch decline compared with 118 recorded in 2017.
The top five cities in this regard were San Francisco, New York, London, Paris and Singapore.
The dimensions of personal well-being, economics, innovation and governance were studied to determine this ranking.
The Global Cities Index examines world cities’ performance and the Global Cities Outlook evaluates their potential with the aim of assessing which global cities are primed for urban transformation and growth, and can attract the best companies, the top talents and the most investment.
